Prelude to Kindergarten

Max started his practice week of kindergarten at his new school, John Muir Elementary.

The Jump Start program gives the kindergarteners three hours a day to meet their teachers and classmates and get acquainted with their new school before the real deal begins September 8th.

Weekend highlights

Spent the weekend catching up with the boys and giving Elisa a respite from the little fellas after a long stretch of games at work. Oh and spent an unexpectedly eventful Friday night at the emergency vet stitching up our dog who decided to pick a fight with a raccoon.

Other than that, gere are some of the highlights from the weekend:

Sam did brunch with his buddy, who is only two days younger.

Call it "puppy love." We made our annual pilgremedge to Woodinville for my parents' Bassett Bash.

Then we checked out some old fire trucks, listened to Sam say, "Oooh!" and pretended we were fire fighters at Fire Fest.

Fed french fries to the seagulls.

Partied with our friends

And got some time to be ourselves.

Sam's on his way up

And by up I mean on the table, on the counter, into his high chair. Our little man is a climber.

He recently reached new heights when he scaled his crib, climbed downstairs and showed up in the living room unannounced during a supposed nap time.

We moved him from the crib to the floor and had to barricade him in his room.

All this from a kid who ten weeks ago just started walking.

If he's hungry, he just climbs right in

Or climbs onto the counter or table to finish Max's leftovers

Climbing out of the crib changed the game

We moved Sam's mattress to the floor

He sometimes now prefers just the floor

He can't scale this... yet.

Seafair Sunday Funday

Seafair is a huge local summer festival that culminates in hydroplane races and an air show featuring the Blue Angels. Moreover, all this takes place on Lake Washington about three blocks from our house.

The Greene family fully embraced the event on Sunday and the boys loved it.
