Tin Tin party

For Max's big 9th birthday bash this year he requested a Tin Tin themed party. Because what little kid from 2018 doesn't like a comic first published nearly 90 years ago?

Our young, but old soul, had an absolute blast at his event that featured spy costumes, Nerf guns and the traditional homemade birthday corn dogs.

Birthday for days

Max's started celebrating his birthday on his birthday last Wednesday and the party just kept on going.  

I was out of town for the big day so I had to FaceTime in to sing Happy Birthday and watch Max blow out his candles. 

I came home early on Friday and took Max to his favorite Vietnamese sandwich shop. He's such a Seattle kid. 

Then it was off to Flying Circus, which is part play area, part jungle gym and all together crazy fun for the kids. 

Unless you're scared of heights...

Then you just take it down a notch. 

Or play in the foam cube pits.

We capped it off with a couple trips to the park and some snow mixed in. 

Now it's time to get ready for the big finale... Max's corn dog birthday party tomorrow!

Max is mighty fine at 9!

Words can't express the love, joy and pride Max brings us every day, so we'll let this video retrospective of his last year do the talking.

He grew his hair, lost some teeth, got some new ones, learned to tell some jokes and roll his eyes at us, but always brought a smile to our faces.

We had a fun start to Max's big 9th birthday week. Last night we busted out the Nintendo Game Cube his Aunt Katherine gave him a while ago and now it's game on!

Bursting our bubble

It was a beautiful weekend in Seattle to blow some giant bubbles. Then of course there's nothing like rubbing the bubble solution in your hair while your dad's back is turned!
