Hawaiian vacation photos
You probably remember sitting through your friends' vacation slideshows way back in the day. Well, now you have to endure several blog posts and many, many photos of our amazing week-long vacation to Kona with the boys and Elisa's parents to celebrate Elisa's 40th earlier in the month.
We had lots to pack
It started early in the morning in Seattle
A little too big to play in the airport kids play area
The boys had all eyes on Hawaii
Aloha!
Checking out the view from our condo
And more importantly checking out the pool...
The pool with the ocean view!
Dinner the first night with our feet in the sand and our eyes on the sunset!
Max's sunset photo
More Hawaiian vacation photos
The boys and I did some low tide explore early in the morning
And of course spent some time in the pool
And took in another amazing sunset
Mom and dad got their first night out while Sue Sue watched the boys in the evening
Still more Hawaiian vacation photos
We fueled our day with a trip to Broke Da Mouth Grindz, which was one of the best places we ate. Broke Da Mouth translates to something so good you can hardly talk and grindz are just good food.
Sam crushing some Spam musubi about the size of his arm
Sue Sue and Max shared a plate of delicious oysters
Sunset photos? Oh yeah, we got a few of those!
The Hawaiian vacation photos keep on coming
We spent a good part of the day at Kaloko-Honokohau National Park
The boys learned about lava rocks
And learned the "Rule of Thumb" from the park ranger that meant when you saw a wild sea turtle you were an appropriate distance away if it was smaller than your thumb
Checking out sea turtles with Pop Pop
This was one of the most beautiful spots we visited on our trip
Max snorkeling
Sam sand castling
Can’t get enough Hawaiian vacation photos? We’ve got you covered
We had a full day of fun with a snorkeling excursion coupled with...
Shaved ice!!!
We then took a half-hour drive to Puuhonua o Honaunau National Park
Max took some pictures of the fixh
Sam took a picture of Max and me
And then Max got a picture of his parents
Kona was experiencing record-breaking heat with temps in the mid-90s with 100% humidity. So we needed to take a dip in the water after the visit to the park.
Sam stacked some rocks
And Max did some more snorkeling
On the way back we bought the boys a coconut at a roadside fruit stand, which Max had been angling for the entire trip
The kids liked watching the coconut being cut more than the coconut itself.
We ended the day with another dip in the pool
And a sunset dinner at our complex
