Heart cake

Sam thought we should make "heart cake" for Elisa the other morning while she was sleeping in. Certainly a nice gesture. How could I say no?!

How do you make heart cake you ask? I needed to ask too by the way. 

It was simple according to Sam. You just needed a few ingredients: peanut butter, oranges and sugar.  And as luck would have it we had all three in the house.  

We "baked" up our "cake" in an oven that was wisely turned off and then presestend it to mom when she woke up. She was touched, but being the amazingly gracious mother she is let Sam eat his own creation.

We launched the Rockets new season with a parade, photo with the Moose and a doubleheader.

Max made the first out tagging a player going from first to second and had some good hits.

It has been a week of ripping and drying out our entryway ceiling after last week's bathtub incident. Sam has found the fans to be a new source of entertainment sticking balloons, toys and articles of clothing in them to see what he can make fly into the air.

We should be dried out by next week and ready for the plumber, drywaller and painter to get us back to normal.

Thank goodness for insurance and that Sam is cute.

Can't spell damages without S-A-M

This bathing beauty made an ugly mess.

Last night, he flipped the bathtub spigot cover over, causing the water to head back into the wall, through an open hole, and down to the ceiling of the main floor below.

Luckily, the water then hit the smoke detector, which went off and alerted us to the mess.

Fingers crossed that our house will still be standing by the time Sam goes to college.

Max drew a few oohs and ahhs at the Science Center today for his tower. Towards the end, he was on his tiptoes on a bench to reach the top.

Probably the most amazing part was the fact that Sam didn't come by and knock it over on purpose at any point. That's typically little brother 101.

Little League Spring Training

Max made his first trip to the batting cages with a couple friends and their dads/my coaching buddies. He made consistent contact and had a great time.
