We'll just let this one slide
I think poor Max got my fear of heights. But on our recent trip to a community fair in Atlanta he bravely climbed up a two-story-ish inflatable slide with one of his cousins.

A peachy trip to Atlanta
Last week Elisa, Max and I took my mom to Atlanta as a present for her 70th birthday. As you can see from the photo below, there were plenty of relatives to visit, including her brother, her brother's kids and his grandchildren. As an added bonus, her sister and brother in-law flew out from LA for the weekend, too.
Two 5 year olds + four 2 year olds = a full house |
Catching up with Elisa's Aunt Mary who also lives in Atlanta |
A trip to the Georgia Aquarium to ponder our finned friends. |
We root, root, rooted for the home team (even though it wasn't our home team or the home team that pays our bills) |
A run in the park |
Finally, how cute is this? Six second cousins walking hand-in-hand at ballpark spontaneously chanting "We are kids!" Off the charts adorable, right?!

Stuff my three year old says
As Max's vocabulary grows, so does his hilarious conversation skills. Here are a few gems from just the last 24 hours:
Max: Can I have a cheetah?
Elisa: No.
Max: Why not?
I have to wash the windows with an ice cube.
Max: When I grow up will I become a little girl?
Elisa: No, you'll grow into a man like daddy, and you'll be able to drive cars and buy your own ice cream.
Max: Ok, I will become a man, then.
Does the baseball game have Zambonis?

Tickled to meet Elmo
Everyone's favorite red Sesame Street character paid a visit to Safeco Field today. And nobody was more excited to meet him then Max, who waited outside his dressing room like a groupie.
His smile says it all. Sometimes your heroes are even better in person.
