Two wheelin’

Sam decided to try riding his bike without training wheels yesterday. With a little encouragement and push from his big brother, he was off and riding up and down the street.

Today he taught himself how to start on his own and turn.

Now there's no stopping him!

Grandma Patti’s next career is babysitting!

Congratulations to my amazing mom, who retired this month after a decade in teaching and before that four decades nursing. 

She was the first licensed, deaf nurse in California. As the article I shared states, "She learned to feel the needs of others," and she spent a career that spanned 55 years doing just that for patients, students, families and co-workers. 

I'm glad Max and Sam had the opportunity to see faculty and students show their appreciation for their grandma at her recent retirement party. 

Now she's got more free time for what's most important... babysitting my kids!

Third grade is in the history books

Max finished third grade today in style. Early this week he participated in Dress-to-Impress Day.

Then, finished with Wacky Dress Day.

The blue hair was definitely whack.

Sam and his soon-to-be-kindergarten pal previewed their potential teachers.

While Max said goodbye to his 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Kang, who was also his kindergarten teacher.

After school we celebrated with ice cream...

Dad & Dudes’ Day

After having to work most of Father's Day, I decided to take a half day the next day.

I surprised Max and took him out of school early. The boys and I went to lunch and the beach.

Nothing better than starting the week with a special day with these two crazy critters!

Sam graduated from preschool this week. It's been a three-year journey at the PlayGarden where we've seen our little man grow confidence, make friends and most importantly, have loads of fun.
