The best thing about turning 6 months old...

Brand new wardrobe!

zzzzzzzzz

This is Max's favorite new sleeping position. We think he's either imitating an in inch worm or trying to face Mecca.

Happy Birthday to our other little critter

Winnie turned 3 today. She's been real good with Max so far. A few times she's even got protective of him when other dogs are in the house or new people come around.

Max is really digging Winnie, too. He'll track her all movement when she's in the same room and brace himself when she comes by for kisses.

Now if he'd only pipe down once in awhile the ol' lady could get some sleep!

Max's world

Max's world is opening up around him. He's been really into discovering new things lately. Here are a few photos of him taking it all in!

The stuffed orange nose on the left-side of the frame belongs to Max's best friend in the world "Moo Cow," who as you can tell makes him very excited.

Max, your Grandpa Gary painted that. Maybe artisic ability skips a generation, son.

A Seattle tradition, feeding french fries to the avian version of a goat, the seagull.

Happy Birthday, Mama Grape!

Many thanks to Noelle, Jason, Kat, Kelly and Misa for helping with the Elisa's big party. Also, kudos to Bruce, Susan and Katherine for making the long drive out to Seattle and to everyone who spent their Saturday morning with us. Elisa was so surprised!
I also appreciate Loie, Linda and Adriane for helping me lure Elisa to Bradner Park with the ol' fake big plant sale trick. And one more thanks to Cynthia at Sweet n' Savory for the delicious brunch!

Captain Maxwell Ridley Greene

So the story behind the camouflage jacket Max is wearing is pretty cool. A friend of mine, Becky, from MLB, and her husband Marc sent Max this jacket as a gift.

Marc is stationed at Ft. Lewis and is heading back to Iraq & Afghanistan for a third tour soon.

The jacket he gave our Grape has a tiny "Greene" name plate and patches to match Marc's jacket. So Max not only ranks as a Captain in the Rangers, but he's also a West Point cadet! We're so proud.

We're also proud and thankful for Marc's service and wish him a safe return soon!

We may be biased...

But, we think this kid is pretty darn cute.
