Our forgotten four-legged 4-year old

There was a time not so long ago when 90-percent of the pictures I took were of our dog, Winnie. Her stock plummeted when Max arrived. Now the only photos she ends up in are the ones she manages to photobomb.
On today, her fourth birthday, we wanted to pay homage to Winnie. Despite her barking, jumping on people and crazy disposition, she is a great companion and watch dog for Elisa and me, as well as a friend, jungle gym and endless source of entertainment for Max.
Our first little grrreene grrrape.

Max has recently learned how to feed Winnie.

And observe the feeding process.

Happy 4th birthday, Winnie. You'll aways be Max's first dog... or "adeg" or "innie" as he calls you.

Hot fun in the summertime

The temperature cracked 90 this weekend in A/C-free city of Seattle, which meant we had to get outside and enjoy the water. The highlight of which was letting Max cool his tiny toes at the Green Lake kiddie pool.

What made the trip to Green Lake even better was hanging out with my old Husky buddies and all their Husky pups!

Greene-ormous

It’s was a big day for our lb-challenged child. Yesterday the little grape finally tipped the scales over 20 pounds!

Not sure how often the folks in the doctor’s office hear cheering during weigh-ins, but Elisa and I let out a big woot when Max hit twenty-something. Coming off a week with the stomach flu and dropping a pound-and-a-half, we’ll take it.

High calorie and high fat foods, like greek yogurt, buttermilk biscuits and peanut butter will still be staples in Max’s diet. And just to be sure, we’re going to see a nutritionist for more menu ideas.

Bon appétit, bub!
