Money in the bank

The boys took their hard-earned lemonade money and then some to the bank this past weekend to open their first acocunts.

Max was excited to save his money. Sam wanted us to go to the nearest toy store so he could spend his!

Rock on!

Last Saturday we took Max to see one of his favorite artists, Ed Sheeran. It was a great night the home of the Seahawks, CenturyLink Field.

We got unbelievable seats about 8 rows from the stage from a friend who directed a couple of Ed Sheeran's videos.

Max had the time of his life. Elisa and I enjoyed watching Max take it all in. Sam O. dance and sang for about three-quarters of the show and then passed out.

Getting a jump start

Sam O. is taking a practice run at kindergarten all this week with the Jump Start program. It gives the incoming class a chance to get familiar with school and the teachers an opportunity to meet their new students.

So far, so good for Sam.  He's been going to John Muir for years now for Max's drop-offs. Now it's his turn and he has no fear. In fact, on the car ride over for his second day he declared, "Daddy, I can get out and go to school myself now." Then, walking in he stopped me 50 feet before the drop-off spot and hugged me and said, "Bye, daddy."

They grow up so fast!

Real kindergarten starts September 10th for our big little man on campus.

Great Grandma Betty

Another highlight of our recent trip to Spokane was the opportunity to visit with the boys' 95-year-old Great Grandma Betty. What an amazing lady!

The boys of summer vacation

We just got back from our summer vacation in Spokane where we visited the boys' grandma and grandpa or as they're called by our little fellas, "Sue Sue" and "Pop Pop".

Highlights below:

We made a brief stop at Wild Horses Monument on the car ride over. I say it was brief because it was 107 when we got out of the car to do the short hike up the ridge to see the statues. Needless to say, the hike was abbreviated, but we got some pictures.

A definite highlight for Sam was Grandma and Grandpa's "jet plane" bath, which was a bath with jets.

Day 1 of 2 at Spokane's Riverfront Park provided several highlights!

We also got in a trip to the splash park that same afternoon.

We ran and rolled back into Riverfront Park the next day

Fun times with mom

The newest members of the Mariners Marketing team

The boys recently helped model T-shirts for Amulet Day at the ballpark. Amulet is a popular graphic novel series for kids (and adults) and the author Kazu Kibuishi lives in Seattle.

Kazu designed a special T-shirt for the game and the boys did a mini photo shoot with our team photographer after a game a couple of weeks ago.

The results have shown up in social media posts from the Mariners and the author.

I'm totally biased, but I think we could've found better models!

Mini moguls

Seattle’s annual extravaganza, Seafair rolled through our neighborhood last weekend. It always transforms our sleepy corner of the city into a bustling destination for thousands to watch the Blue Angels and hydroplanes.

So what to do when life gives you Seafair?

You make lemonade...
 and lots of money.

The boys helped make the signs and the product. Plus, Sam proved to be a good salesman telling potential customers walking by, “Lemonade $1. It’s cold. It’s clean.”
In all the boys easily cleared $100!
