Happy Noon Year!

What better way to ring in the New Year (not to mention our anniversary) then with a Caspar Babypants show at the Mt. Baker Clubhouse where we got married. And since this was a kids band, there was no way we were making it to midnight, so we of course counted down to noon.

Dressed up for the occasion

Max dancing with one of his preschool classmates, Pela
Of course there was a ball drop at noon, or at least the dropping of the beach balls

Rockin' out to Caspar

Back at the Clubhouse one year later for a different kind of celebration

Happy Anniversary to us

The point of Christmas

Mom: "Christmas is coming. What happens on Christmas?"

Max: "Presents!"

Mom: "Presents? What kinds of Presents will you get?"

Max: "A cloud!"

Mom: "What kind of cloud?"

Max: "A cloud made of car dough. You put the dough in a cookie. The cars are in it! And you eat it."

How to shop for your mom

Mom: "What will you and dad get me for Christmas?"

Max: "A basketball. You can dribble it and shoot it!!"

Mom: "What if I don't want that. Then, what will you get me?"

Max: "A football." (With deadpan expression that says, "Obviously!")

Mom: "What if I don't want that. Then, what will you get me?"

Max: "A giraffe."

Puddle Play

Max makes the most of a soggy Seattle day.

Back to school

I got the opportunity to go back to school, or should I say preschool, with Max this week. I spent a fun-fulled 2-1/2 hours at the Seattle PlayGarden with Max and all his little buddies.
Snack time

Snack making
Teacher Liz takes the class for a ride
Exploring with Ms. Burnley
Hanging with Cosimo
Chicken chaser

I think Max sorta digs preschool

Pint-sized parent-teacher conference

We had our first parent-teacher conference this week. Yes, you read that right. A two-month check-in on our 2-1/2 year old.

We sat in the tiny kids chairs and an equally dinky table and learned that Max is just and happy and active at preschool as he is at home.

He's made friends with all the other kids, especially the few older children in his class. Oh, and he loves the chickens or bunnies captured in the photos his teacher shared with us below.
